Search for “Evan Samuel Mickelson” and you’ll notice something odd. One page calls him a tour golfer. Another says he plays in the NFL. A third insists he’s an artist, and a fourth gives him a business career and a net worth.
They can’t all be right, and in fact almost none of them are.
This article sets aside the noise. It covers what can be said with confidence about Evan Samuel Mickelson, the family he belongs to, why so much misleading content exists, and how you can check any claim yourself.
Who Is Evan Samuel Mickelson?
Evan Samuel Mickelson is the youngest child of golfer Phil Mickelson and Amy Mickelson, and the only son in the family. Most sources give his birth date as March 23, 2003.
As of 2026, based on his March 23, 2003 birth date, he is 23 years old.
He has two older sisters, Amanda Brynn and Sophia Isabel. Phil’s own profile on major reference pages lists all three children, and sports outlets that cover Phil regularly confirm that Evan is his son.
Beyond that, there is very little verified public information. Evan has not built a public profile through interviews, tour results or official media appearances that can be checked. That’s an important point, and it shapes how this whole topic should be written about.

Notice that Evan arrived just before his father’s best stretch. Phil’s major wins in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2010 and 2013 all came while his children were growing up.
A Childhood Shaped by Golf, But Not Defined by It
Phil has talked in public about how family comes first, even during big tournament weeks. One story fans still repeat comes from the 1999 U.S. Open. Phil carried a pager that week, ready to leave if Amy went into labor. Amanda was born the following day.
Evan’s early years followed a similar pattern. His father was one of the most watched athletes in the world, but the family kept their private life mostly out of the cameras.
That matters because it explains the lack of public information. It isn’t a mystery or a cover-up. It’s a family choosing a normal life.
Phil Mickelson: The Context Behind the Search
Most people who search for Evan are really curious about the Mickelson name. A short summary of Phil’s career helps explain the interest.
- Amateur success: He won the 1990 NCAA title while at Arizona State and later won a PGA Tour event as an amateur.
- Six major championships: Three Masters, two PGA Championships and one Open Championship.
- A record of near misses: He finished runner-up at the U.S. Open six times, more than any other player.
- A historic win: At 50, he became the oldest major champion in golf history at the 2021 PGA Championship.
- Public health challenges: He has spoken about living with psoriatic arthritis.
- A major career change: In 2022 he joined LIV Golf, which divided opinion across the sport.
None of this makes Evan a public figure, but it shows why interest in the family stays high.
Is Evan Samuel Mickelson a Professional Golfer?
There is no reliable evidence that he is.
Several auto-generated pages say he is an “accomplished amateur,” “turned professional in 2021,” or “plays for a specific university.” These claims often contradict each other. Some give him a different birth year, a different school and different results, sometimes within the same site.
When a real athlete competes at a high level, there is a paper trail. You’d expect to find:
- Tournament results on official tour or association sites
- Team rosters on university athletics pages
- Coverage from established golf or sports outlets
- Rankings listed on recognized world ranking systems
For the keyword “Evan Samuel Mickelson,” none of those turn up in verified sources. Until that changes, it’s more honest to say his career path is unknown than to invent one.
Why So Much False Content Exists
Famous names generate search traffic, and some websites exploit that. They publish dozens of near-identical pages about relatives of celebrities, using software to fill in the details.
Here’s how to spot the pattern.
Common Warning Signs
- Wild contradictions: the same name appears as a golfer, a punter and a basketball player.
- Empty praise: phrases like “unstoppable journey” with no dates, events or names attached.
- Circular sentences: paragraphs that restate the question instead of giving information.
- Unrelated websites: a university department, an insurance company or a library hosting a celebrity biography.
- Numbers with no source: net worth, rankings or earnings with nothing behind them.
A Simple Way to Check Any Claim
- Find the same fact on at least two independent, reputable sites.
- Check official sources, such as tour sites, university athletics pages and verified social accounts.
- Ask who the writer is and whether they cite anything.
- If the details change from page to page, treat all of them as unreliable.
Claims You’ll See Online vs. What Holds Up
| Claim found online | Reality |
|---|---|
| He is an NFL or NBA G League player | No credible evidence; the claims contradict each other |
| He is an artist or real estate analyst | Appears to be content-farm filler |
| He turned pro in 2021 | Unverified, and some pages give a different birth year |
| He attends a specific university | Different sites name different schools |
| He has a large net worth | No credible figure exists |
| He is Phil Mickelson’s son | Confirmed |
| He was born March 23, 2003 | Widely reported across sources |
Respecting Privacy When Writing About Famous Families
Evan is an adult who never asked for public attention. Having a well-known father doesn’t make his schooling, finances or relationships public property.
Responsible writing about people like him means reporting what’s been confirmed and saying clearly what hasn’t. Filling the gaps with guesses might help a page rank for a week, but it misleads readers and can follow a real person around the internet for years.

Final Thoughts
The verified picture of Evan Samuel Mickelson is short: he is Phil and Amy Mickelson’s youngest child, born in 2003, and he is 23 in 2026. Everything beyond that should be treated with caution.
That might feel like a small answer to a popular search. But it’s an honest one, and it’s more useful than a made-up biography. If Evan ever takes a public role in sports or business, official records and reputable coverage will make it easy to confirm.
Until then, the best approach is simple: trust sources that name their facts, be wary of ones that don’t, and let a private person stay private.
